It all started with a contest on a blog called "Crazy Aunt Purl".  You were to knit a sweater for a cat and send in the picture. Well....at the time I was big into felting. I made a handful of these wine bags (right of the dog with his eyes closed) for gifts.

I had no idea how to knit a sweater...let alone for a dog. So the idea was presented to put some of my favorite things together to go with the wine bags. Well of course wine, but the most important thing were my dachshunds. It was either Dianne or Kelly who thought of the name "Wool, Wine and Wieners". So the name was born.

In the picture is Gretchen and Schroeder. Gretchen passed away January 25, 2012. She was a nut. We still miss her. She made it to 17.5 years. Schroeder is almost 17.5 years. He is doing well. Especially when it comes to dinner.

Poor Schroeder....photo shoots are so exhausting.

50 Shades of Grey....I just don't get it.

I apologize to those who loved the book and found it the "best" romance novel ever.  I had a hard time with it. I spent most my time laughing and texting my buddy (Dianne) to see what she thought. It was the month's choice for our book club. In fact Dianne had her husband pick up 2 copies at Costco. One for me the other for her. We thought we could embarrass him. Fools that we are...he does not embarrass easy.

I liked to think of it as a "Harlequin" romance on steroids...It just seemed unbelievable. Christian Grey far too damaged for my liking. Again...sorry. Well at least it is getting women to read more. Argh.

So my thought was...What do I do with this book. Do I donate...Do I give it away...

or do I make hats for my snowmen....

I was so excited and quite pleased with my idea that I decided to run it by my husband. My husband, who is usually quite supportive, told me there was a special Christmas hell just for me.

Alas, I mailed my book to my cousin Michelle in Bakersfield.

Where is my Dad

So the husband is in Canada...hunting geese and Sully is beside himself. He misses my husband. The problem being is only my husband can console him. He just shows me his teeth when I inquire about how he is doing.
It is a very good thing he is cute.

This is Sullivan (Sully) Winchester....he is a long-haired brindle. Stubborn....
This is Beatrix Lou Dianne. She is a rescue. Had a hard little life. She was a working girl. Puppy mill mom. She was rescued by a wonderful woman named Monti from Dachshund Rescue of Northern Ca. We adopted her in March 2012 after our 17.5 year old Gretched died. Monti suspects she was in a cage the first 2 years of her life. Which would explain her being terrified of everything. She has done so well. Still terrified of my husband. We suspect he looked like the (insert dirty word) man who used her for breeding. She is coming around. We think it is more my husbands voice that scares her. She is also terrified of any songs sung by Alan Jackson. Hey...it is my husbands choice of music. She does fine listening to Smashing Pumpkins!

Shout out to "Yuppy Puppy" in Antelope. Awesome job clipping her nails and making her comfortable.

This is Schroeder Rudolph...he turned 17 years on June 1, 2012. He my boy. He is deaf and a little cranky now...but I love him just the same. He tolerates the new ones.
Please forgive me but I am very new at this. So bear with me....The above is Sully. Well the one on the left. The other is the mother of our Beatrix. We adopted Beatrix in March 2012. She came from Dachshund Rescue of Northern California. After we left...we decided to also adopt Sully.
