So Sully got to see Santa. He was actually very well behaved. Major shocker...

Next year I will take Beatrix and Molly. I think Santa would be too much for Bea.

Barbera Festival 2013

June 15th was the 3rd annual Barbera Festival held at Cooper Winery. It was located somewhere in Amador County in a walnut grove. It was incredibly hot. It was fun but, it was hot. We are talking over 100 degrees hot.  We ended up leaving after 2 hours.

We ended up leaving in hopes of finding some wineries with airconditioning.

We were successful.....

We stayed with my brother and sister-in-law in their trailer. Their trailer...awesome. Had airconditioning.

Dana missed his Sully but, it was not too long until this guy showed up...

He kind of looked like Sully. He hung out by my husband while we were there. Sully has a duck twin.

Oh! The cute girl by the "Diner Dog" head is my partner in crime at these events.

King Rat Killer

Sully killed a rat last week.

Needless to say it was a shock. I had just finished my morning walk with Dianne, when low and behold I open the door to Sully with a dead rat in his mouth. Beatrix Lou and Molly were gathered beside him. Wagging their little furry butts with joy and excitement. Even our 18 year old dachshund shuffled over.

I did what I do best... screamed... Screamed so loud my neighbor (Dianne) came running over.

I was just so freaked out...then sad and finally I was mad. Sully kind of destroyed the yard chasing the poor thing. He broke a very delicate shrub and trampled over a lot of flowers. Plus the rat looked like Remy from Disney Pixar's "Ratatouille".

I made the mistake of calling the husband on his cell phone....

phone rings...the husband answers...

Hubby: "What's up?"

Me (slight hysteria in voice): "Do you know what your boy did?"

Hubby: "Why is he always my boy when apparently he did something bad?"

Me (ignoring that last comment): "He killed a rat and brought in the house. The whole yard is a mess. It was horrible."

Hubby: "OH MY GOD! Are you kidding???....That is AWESOME!!! Did you give him a treat? Did you  praise him? What did you do?"

Me....silent

Hubby: "Well?  What did you do?"

Me (like he really has to ask) "Well, after I finished screaming, I brushed his teeth."

Hubby (almost a whisper) "Dear Lord...what is wrong with you?...."

Honestly...

Birthday Party Guests

Of course the gang was all there. This is Sully. He is very good about posing for the camera.

Here is Molly. She looks to me like an unhappy crayon.

Beatrix Lou....the shy one.

Cousin Brinkley....

Dinner was kangaroo meat. Not my idea.

Happy 18th Birthday Schroeder

Teeth Cleaning....and Sully

Well we fianlly took him in to have his teeth cleaned. I was so worried about him. I feared he thought he was being given up. Since he is a rescue from DRNC, you can only imagine what his history might have been. Thank the good Lord for people like Saint Monti (not her real name but we think it should be) of DRNC. She went and got him and made it possible for us to adopt him.

When I went to go pick him up...he was not happy with me. In facted... he was rather pissed at me. Loopy and hostile. He showed me how pretty his teeth were. Basically gave me the paw and sat on his Dad's lap.

Thank you Dr. Jill and the staff at VCA for taking good care of him.
